Day 2: Relax and do as little as possible

Since neither of us got much sleep last night we didn't feel the need to do much today. But with the temps as nice as they are we did make a trip to the beach.

It was so nice today to wear shorts and flip flops. The water temp was somewhere in the 60's I guess, but too cold for Gail to get her feet wet. The surf was up as the breeze was strong off-shore. Where we were there was one surfer.
We found a great deli called "Cravings" on the beach, and ate outside on the sidewalk under a canopy.
We both noticed that this time of year Florida is heavily populated with elder northerners. Gail said the women had money from the purses they carried. I wouldn't know.
After a visit to the Super Wal-Mart (it was huge) for a few essentials for dinner tonight, etc., we returned back to Sarah and Terry's for a bit of a nap.
Gail and Sarah are having a "private" Mary Kay party tonight at a friend's. Terry and I are going to see Invictus.
No plans for tomorrow, but there's a space shuttle launch on Sunday sometime and we should be able to see it from here once it gets off the ground.

  2. The movie was excellent. Having spent two weeks in South Africa in '98 there was a lot that was familiar in the film. I almost picked up the book today, but bought on of Shelby Foote's volumes on the Civil War instead. Need some fun reading for the trip.

  3. Ahh," Invictus". The poem is by Wm. Bentley, agnostic, in which he states, " I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul..." . Any of that theme in movie?
Tom did an excellent job,I think we are in for great series on the Healthy Church.
Saw Gwyneth sitting in car watching a DVD...she was clapping and giggling at the action in film;very cute not to mention very bright.
