When I occasionally hear the national average for a gallon of gas, I can't believe how low it is compared to the prices we pay in the Bay Area of No CA. So, I didn't experience any "sticker shock" as I looked at your pic of local gas prices. What IS baffling is that we have refineries in our immediate area, and yet we still get dinged more than almost all of the rest of the country. CA is beautiful (as evidenced by your pix), but the costs connected w/living here are prohibitive. Just sayin'. And, yeah, I'm whining. BUT, your pix are wonderful, and I am enjoying reading about your adventures. I noticed, too, that you're on day 30 of your 40 day odyssey, so while I'm sure that you're having a great time, you must be itching to get home to your grandbabies--and, oh, yeah--your kids. That's how Gene and I feel about our grandbabies, anyway. To paraphrase a friend, if we'd known it was this cool to have grandkids, we would have never had kids!
Look at the size of those trees man. They're huge!!
